About NCTPASS

About Us:

The Research Triangle area in North Carolina is home to high-tech companies, government institutions, and three well-known universities: North Carolina State University (NCSU), University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (UNC-Chapel Hill), and Duke University (Duke). Therefore, it has attracted many people with advanced degrees to this region, including those who initially came from Taiwan or Taiwanese Americans growing up in the US.  The North Carolina-Taiwan Professional and Scholar Society (NCTPASS) was established in December 2019 as a non-profit organization by a group of Taiwanese professionals in this area.  The motivation was to create a platform for scholarly networking among professionals connected to Taiwan. Our members include faculty, scientists, administrators, and professionals from universities and industries in this area.

Mission Statement:

Provide career guidance, mentoring, and resources to trainees (graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting scholars) with Taiwanese heritage, enhance their knowledge and skills and promote scholarly interactions among Taiwanese scholars and professionals in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina.
